Summary
A great small jazz band, a legendary American composer and marvelous sound. Previously this mixture created one of the most remarkable sound recordings, the Direct-to-disc-Cut of the Bassface Swing Trio with their tribute to Gershwin. Could things become any better than this? Hard to imagine, but true. Proof enough of this: The Bassface Swing Trio again, this time featuring singer Barbara Bürkle, a fine selection of Cole Porter jazz tunes entitled Tribute to Cole Porter.
Brilliant dynamic vocals from jazz singer Barbara Burkle accompanied by the likes of pianist Thilo Wagner, bassist Jean-Philippe Wadle and drummer Florian Hermann. High-quality performances of Cole Porter songs like "Night and Day", "Easy To Love" and "It's De-Lovely" all on Limited Edition, Hand-numbered high-quality 180g vinyl with Hybrid Stereo SACD included!
Direct-to-disc has been and still is the biggest challenge in audiophile music production. Unforgettable are the works of Sheffield, Jeton and courageous cutting engineers like Stan Ricker, who out-maxed the technical possibilities of that time by provocative back-cutting.
The Stockfisch sound engineers mixed the sound of seven microphones in an analog mixer to a stereo sum. They enjoyed this creative listening phase whilst doing this exciting down-mix. The musicians played two sets of four pieces - live, there were no edits or digital tricks involved.
For collectors of audiophile specials, this release is also available as DSD 2.8224 MHz-TO-DISC Vinyl 180g LP + SACD Hybrid-bundle - limited to 500 units, numbered and signed by Günter Pauler.
